Centrifuge

Centrifuge was the name of the system used at the Civic Media Center to organise the collection of books, DVDs, videos etc, as well as for keeping track of membership donations and similar things.

It was a mostly generic LAMP (Linux-Apache-Mysql-PHP) application that also made use of the PEAR libraries.In 2009, the CMC moved their existing collectiong over to a community supported open source CMS, namely Drupal.

For a while it was planned to open source Centrifuge. However, due to time constraints and obstacles in creating a generic version this was never finished. The following links are a collection of posts detailing the progress to releasing the code in somewhat reverse chronological order.
